Southern Red Sea region: Call made for sustaining enhanced work performance demonstrated in 2014

The managing director of the Southern Red Sea regional administration, Ambassador Mohammed-Seid Mantai, has called for sustaining the enhanced work performance witnessed 2014 in a highly organized manner.

 

Assab, 15 January 2015 – The managing director of the Southern Red Sea regional administration, Ambassador Mohammed-Seid Mantai, has called for sustaining the enhanced work performance witnessed 2014 in a highly organized manner. He made the call at a meeting conducted for assessing last year’s accomplishments and programs for this year. Ambassador Mohammed-Seid went on to stress the need for putting up more effort so as to attain the set goals.

According to reports presented at the meeting by department heads of the region, a number of development programs implemented in 2014 have borne satisfactory outcome as regards community livelihood, in addition to ensuring food security. In this regard, 48 tones of fresh fish and over 1,000 quintals of dry fish have been harnessed through providing training course and extending support to fishermen.

Regarding health sector, mothers who deliver in health institutions is on the rise, and that a total of 132 villages have become beneficiaries of soak-pit-latrines. Moreover, vaccination centers have been expanded to 126 stations, apart from the encouraging outcome registered in education and agriculture sectors.

The participants of the meeting expressed readiness to step up participation in the implementation of development programs set for implementation in 2015.
