The regional meeting of the World Federation of Democratic Youths (WFDY)-Africa Commission here in the capital has concluded.
Asmara, 23 January 2015 – The regional meeting of the World Federation of Democratic Youths (WFDY)-Africa Commission here in the capital has concluded.
In the course of the two day meeting, seminars were conducted to the participants by Mr. Yemane Gebreab, Head of Political Affairs at the PFDJ, as regards youth and the fight against neo-colonialism, and Prof. Taisir Ali, Director of the Peace Building Center of the Horn of Africa, on the efforts of African youths for peace, sustainable development and fighting against imperialism, in addition to Mr. Alem Kibreab, Director General in the Department of Mines, who outlined the role of the mining sector in nation-building undertakings.
The participants of the meeting voiced appreciation for the warm hospitality accorded them by the people and Government of Eritrea, and expressed readiness to work for fostering cooperation and exchange of experience with Eritrean youths.
Mr. Dalfino Hoster, Vice President of the WFDY, lauded the prevailing peace and stability in Eritrea, and that he would exert the necessary effort to foster closer ties between the National Union of Eritrean Youths and Students and the World Federation of Democratic Youth.
The participants of the WFDY regional meeting seized the opportunity to acquaint themselves with Eritrea’s tourism potentials.
