Silver Jubilee commemoration of Operation Fenkil to take place from 12 to 15 February

The Silver Jubilee commemoration of Operation Fenkil would take place from 12 to 15 February under the theme “Fenkil: Harbinger of Total Liberation”, Mr. Kibrom Andemariam, the coordinator of the commemoration, indicated.

Massawa, 25 January 2015- The Silver Jubilee commemoration of Operation Fenkil would take place from 12 to 15 February under the theme “Fenkil: Harbinger of Total Liberation”, Mr. Kibrom Andemariam, the coordinator of the commemoration, indicated.

He further said that the commemoration has a deep meaning and message, and that line ministries, regional administrations, national associations, PFDJ cultural affair as well as 10 sub-zones in the Northern Red Sea region have finalized preparations to colorfully celebrate the event.

Mr. Kibrom also explained that the activities so far finalized include cultural shows, a book containing 33 short stories, a magazine that contains overall development programs in the region, a documentary film depicting the heroic feat of the society and the liberation fighters as well as a monument with the names of the martyrs, pictorial exhibition and sports competitions.

According to reports from Massawa, the residents of the city and social service provision institutions are making extensive preparations to provide quality services to the participants of the event, and that conducive situation has been put in place to enable the youth to become major players.
