The residents of Areza semi-urban center expressed readiness to strengthen participation in the efforts to alleviate the long existed water shortage in their area.
Mendefera, 01 March 2015- The residents of Areza semi-urban center expressed readiness to strengthen participation in the efforts to alleviate the long existed water shortage in their area.
The residents lead by their development committee have been engaged in renovating with the help machinery the road that connects the water project with the semi-urban center and collecting stones for building water well, and that the water well is nearing completion.
Members of the development committee Mr. Andemeskel Tikuabo and Mr. Gebrehiwot Habtom indicated that the water well is already holding water, and expressed hope that the river flowing towards the water well and the dam beneath it would permanently solve their problem.
Ms. Miliete Tsegai, administrator of the semi-urban center, said that the residents are always ready to reinforce participation for the success of development programs in their area, and that the water well will have significant contribution in cultivating the land beneath the water well.
Mr. Andemeskel Adhanom, Administrator of Areza sub-zone, on his part explained that with the strong participation of the residents the first phase of the water project is nearing completion, and that with completion of the second phase the water problem in the area would be alleviated.
