Eritrean women members of Agribusiness Association hold 1st Congress

Eritrean women members of Agribusiness Association held their 1st Congress and mapped out an action plan for the next two years.

Asmara, 5 February 2015 –Eritrean women members of Agribusiness Association held their 1st Congress and mapped out an action plan for the next two years. Representatives of women’s Association from the six administrative regions took part at the congress.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Arefaine Berhe, Minister of Agriculture, pointed out that the Association has witnessed encouraging outcome and stressed the need for still more gratifying achievement.

Ms. Senait Tesfaldet, Chairperson of the Association, explained on her part that members are presently engaged in apiculture, horticulture and related activities.  She further indicated that the Association is striving to enhance women’s awareness pertaining to improving their livelihood through boosting agricultural production.

The participants elected a 5-member Managing committee that would serve for the next 2 years, in addition to charting action plan up to 2017. The Association has a total membership of 131 across the country.
