The National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students (NUEYS) branch in the Southern region has awarded “Endamaso Prize” to 104 students who scored higher mark in the National General Examination.
Mendefera, 13 February 2015 – The National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students (NUEYS) branch in the Southern region has awarded “Endamaso Prize” to 104 students who scored higher mark in the National General Examination.
Mr. Girmai Gebru, head of the NUEYS regional branch, pointed out that the prize which is of its first kind is aimed at raising competitive spirit of the students. He also indicated that the main objective of the Union is to nurture youth who fulfill the aspiration of the country, and that persistent endeavors are being made towards nurturing youth with virtuous qualities.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Hibtizghi Kidane, head of the Education Ministry’s branch in the region, noted the significance of motivating exemplary students as regards reinforcing the teaching-learning process, and called on the students to demonstrate cooperation with fellow students.
Likewise, Mr. Khelifa Nur-Husien, PFDJ Secretary in the region, called on the students’ awardees to exert more efforts for more gratifying outcome taking the awards they received as a steppingstone. He further called on the public to extend the required support in this regard.
