Cultural shows presented in connection with the Silver Jubilee commemoration of Operation Fenkil

Cultural shows depicting the traditions and cultures of different ethnic groups have been presented in connection with the Silver Jubilee Commemoration of Operation Fenkil.

Massawa, 15 February 2015- Cultural shows depicting the traditions and cultures of different ethnic groups have been presented in connection with the Silver Jubilee Commemoration of Operation Fenkil.

The cultural shows have been presented by the Hidareb, Rashaida, Tigre, Saho Tigrigna and Afar ethnic groups residing in the Northern Red Sea region. Likewise the regions of Central, Anseba and Gash Barka have also presented cultural shows depicting the cultures of the Tigrifna, Bilen, Nara and Kunama ethnic groups.

The cultural shows include traditional and cultural songs of their respective ethnic groups as well as songs portraying the living conditions of the liberation fighters that have been stationed in that area.

The representatives of the regional cultural villages told Erina that the cultural and traditional displays presented by the different ethnic groups have profound message to the public on the need of being vigilant in safeguarding the independence that has been won through heavy human and material cost.
