Hagaz, 24 February 2015 – Sports competitions among 16 Secondary Schools in Anseba region is underway in Hagaz town.
Mr. Solomon Arefe, head of Sports affairs in the Education Ministry’s branch, told Erina that the competitions have been conducted for more than 2 months, and that all sub-zones of the region, except Sel’a and Kerkebet, are taking part in the event.
Likewise, Mr. Shumai Woldai and Mr. Jabir Mohammed Seid, Directors of Hagaz and Anseba Mohamed Secondary Schools respectively, noted the significance of sports competitions as regards creating solidarity among the students, and that the event is registering encouraging outcome yearly.
They also called on the sub-zonal Administrations to exert the necessary effort to this end.
One of the participating coaches, Mr. Mahmud Idris, pointed out that the sports competitions are being conducted alongside academic activities of the students, and that a winner team would participate in regional competitions. He further called on participants to demonstrate higher sense of discipline and spirit of competitiveness.
