Preparations to put in place health institutions in Asmat, Sel’a and Halhal sub-zones at over 120million Nakfa expenditure finalized: Administrator
The Administrator of Anseba region, Mr. Ali Mahmud, said that preparations have been finalized to put in place community hospitals in Rikeb and Geleb areas, as well as health stations in Asmat and Halhal sub-zones, in addition to waiting rooms for pregnant mothers in the areas of Himbol-Qechech, Hamashdba and Asbeda at over 23 million Nakfa expenditure.
Asmat, 28 February 2015 – The Administrator of Anseba region, Mr. Ali Mahmud, said that preparations have been finalized to put in place community hospitals in Rikeb and Geleb areas, as well as health stations in Asmat and Halhal sub-zones, in addition to waiting rooms for pregnant mothers in the areas of Himbol-Qechech, Hamashdba and Asbeda at over 23 million Nakfa expenditure. He made the remarks at a meeting with community elders and inhabitants of the sub-zones, during which Mr. Ali also pointed out that 32 mobile schools with 5 classrooms each are due to be constructed across the region. Moreover, preparations are underway to make available boarding schools in Kerkebet sub-zone, besides putting in place of modern potable water supply facilities in Administrative areas of Kerkebet and Asmat sub-zones.
As regards expanding agricultural activities in the region, the Administrator indicated that the construction of micro-dams in Elabered, Hamelmalo, Asmat, Adi-Tekelezan, Geleb, Halhal, Keren and Hagaz sub-zones at a total of cost of 55 million Nakfa are some of the major programs set for implementation this year. He also stressed that active community participation is prerequisite towards the realization of the set goals.
