Geleb, 04 March 2015 – Dr. Keseteberhan Solomon, head of the Health Ministry’s branch in Anseba region, explained that endeavors towards ensuring community-led environmental hygiene is registering commendable outcome thanks to persistent community endeavors and enhanced awareness to this end.
In briefings he gave focusing on accomplishments registered in the Administrative areas of Geleb, Mihlab and Chindiq in Geleb sub-zone, Dr. Keseteberhan lauded the efforts being exerted by the local inhabitants as regards promoting environmental hygiene, and thereby ensure their health status.
Noting that higher public awareness regarding proper utilization of toilets is a prerequisite in preventing communicable diseases, the regional branch office head explained that a health station would open soon for Chindiq village there.
Similarly, Mr. Zekarias Oqbaselasie, head of Administration and Finance in the MOH branch, expressed appreciation for the active local, Area and sub-zonal Administrators, as well as village health workers participation demonstrated in the process and called on community members to effectively utilize soak-pit-latrines.
