National Cycling Team leaves for Algeria

The Eritrean National Cycling Team today left for Algeria to take part in the International Tour of Algeria 2015 from 6th to 30th of March. The 2.1 and 2.2 standard tour comprises nine different competitions.

Asmara, 04 March 2015 – The Eritrean National Cycling Team today left for Algeria to take part in the International Tour of Algeria 2015 from 6th to 30th of March. The 2.1 and 2.2 standard tour comprises nine different competitions.

The National team headed by Coach Yonas Zekarias comprises cyclists Mekseb Debesai, Dawit Haile, Aron Debretsion, Amanuel Gerezgiher, Meron Abraham and Mehari Tesfatsion, according to the Sports Commission.

Speaking at the send off ceremony, Coach Yonas explained that the team has been making extensive preparations involving 1,000 Km. since February 12. He further expressed conviction that the team would register vibrant success in the tour during which a number of teams and African and European National Clubs are expected to participate.

It is to be recalled that in last year’s International Tour of Algeria, Eritrea had registered encouraging outcome.
