Youth Friendship Committee in Maekel-Ketema sub-zone has conducted promotional activities and seminars for Secondary school students with a view to doing away with harmful addictions, and thereby prevent dire consequences.

Asmara, 05 March 2015 – Youth Friendship Committee in Maekel-Ketema sub-zone has conducted promotional activities and seminars for Secondary school students with a view to doing away with harmful addictions, and thereby prevent dire consequences.

Ms. Akberet Gebregergis, Chairperson of the Committee, said that the programs aim at nurturing youths with virtuous qualities through strengthening their relations with peers, parents and teachers, in addition to creating favorable condition for discussion between parents and students.

Similarly, Habtom Solomon from the Health Ministry called on the participant youths to enhance role in national development endeavors through making good use of the available educational opportunity.

In closing remarks, Mr. Habtai Tesfazghi, Administrator of the sub-zone, commended the initiative taken by the Youth Friendship Committee and noted its impact in nurturing versatile youths.
