Association of Fruits and Vegetables Farmers in Agordat holds Second Congress

The Association of Fruits and Vegetables Farmers in Agordot held the second congress assessing accomplishments and electing new Managing committee.

Agordat, 07 March 2015 – The Association of Fruits and Vegetables Farmers in Agordot held the second congress assessing accomplishments and electing new Managing committee.

In opening remarks, Mr. Tekleberhan Gebrewold, Administrator of Agordat sub-zone, called on the members to exert more endeavors so as to boost production through proper utilization of land resources and raising organizational capacity.

Mr. Kesete Yohannes, Chairman of the Association, stated on his part that the members are striving for higher output, and thereby meet local supply on the basis of acquiring the required experience.

The participants of the congress called on pertinent bodies to set up the required market place and the necessary irrigation facilities.

Similarly, Mr. Bahta Tedros, head of Agriculture and Land Department in Gash-Barka region, urged Association members to work for higher output through enhanced organizational capacity, in addition to applying consultation by experts.
