Student Week conducted in Dubarwa sub-zone

Student Week involving sports and educational activities has been conducted in Dubarwa sub-zone with zeal during which higher female participation was witnessed.

Dubarwa, 10 March 2015 –Student Week involving sports and educational activities has been conducted in Dubarwa sub-zone with zeal during which higher female participation was witnessed.

Over 660 students and 28 teachers from 21 schools involving competitions in Soccer, Volleyball, Athletics, as well as Painting, Renovation and Invention, cultural shows and education-related activities participated in the event that took place in Dubarwa town.

Mr. Tedros Solomon, head of sports and culture at the Education Ministry’s branch in the sub-zone, pointed out that the Week is a continuation of similar competitions among the schools previously. He also noted the significance of the event as regards strengthening physical fitness and raising all-round potential of the students.

The branch head went on to state that competitive spirit and capacity of the schools are registering improvement annually and expressed appreciation for teachers and partners for demonstrating active participation.
