Asmara, 11 March 2015 – The Eritrean Ambassador to Kenya, Mr. Beyene Russom, has conducted seminar for Eritrean community members in Nairobi in connection with International Women’s Day.
Stating that the Eritrean people and their leadership stand on solid ground thanks to the persistent endeavors made without falling victim to the multi-faceted external conspiracies weaved to sap the pace of development drive, the Ambassador pointed out that the Government is working on priority basis towards ensuring social justice. The accomplishments registered in development programs attest to this end, he added.
Moreover, Ambassador Beyene called on Eritrean nationals residing abroad to enhance role in the nation-building process and mount continued staunch resistance against external animosity through enhanced awareness.
Ms. Mi’eraf Bahta, Chairperson of the NUEW branch in Kenya, delivered a speech on behalf of the Union, and other representatives of national organizations conveyed messages of solidarity.
Meanwhile, members of the NUEW branch in Amsterdam and its environs have marked International Women’s Day in a colorful manner. Speaking at the commemorative event, Mr. Solomon Mehari, Eritrean Consul in the Netherlands, noted the significance of women’s economic progress towards ensuring equality and strengthening national development endeavors.
The observance witnessed the staging of performances highlighting Eritrean women’s dedication and values.
