Commander of Police Force calls on youths to enhance role in crime prevention

The Commander of the Eritrean Police Force, Col. Mehari Tesgai, has called on the youth to enhance role towards crime prevention on the basis of higher awareness regarding law.

Asmara, 20 March 2014 – The Commander of the Eritrean Police Force, Col. Mehari Tesgai, has called on the youth to enhance role towards crime prevention on the basis of higher awareness regarding law.

He made the call at a seminar he conducted for students of the Eritrean Institute of Technology in Mai-Nefhi.

Col. Mehari gave extensive briefings focusing on the objectives of the Eritrean Police Force, crime prevention, traffic accidents and its consequence, as well as the role of discipline in crime prevention, among others.

He went on to outline the dire consequences of traffic accidents resulting from lack of responsibility. However, such instances showed reduction in 2014 compared with the previous year, Col. Mehari added.

The Commander further called on the participants to cooperate with the Police Force in endeavors to identify criminals through providing the desired information.
