NUEYS branch in Southern region organizes meetings with a view to enhancing community role towards nurturing competent youth
The National Union of Eritrean Youths and Students branch in the Southern region has organized meetings in Mendefera, Mai-Dima and Endagergis semi-urban centers.
Asmara, 20 March 2015 – The National Union of Eritrean Youths and Students branch in the Southern region has organized meetings in Mendefera, Mai-Dima and Endagergis semi-urban centers. The meetings were aimed at enhancing community role in endeavors to nurture competent youths.
In a meeting he conducted with civil servants, parents and students in the semi-urban centers, Mr. Girmai Gebru, head of the NUEYS branch, noted the active role of the community and parents as regards nurturing versatile youth. He also called on the participants to demonstrate higher participation with a view to raising youth awareness.
Mr. Kiros Fremichael, Administrator of Mai-Dima semi-urban center, stressed the need to organize promotional activities targeting the youths, and thereby sustain their input in the nation-building process.
Moreover, at a meeting with students in Mendefera sub-zone, the regional NUEYS head emphasized the role of educated human personnel in social development as a whole. The participants put forth views on a number of issues, including making available youth centers and organizing sports competitions among students.
