Tessenei, 28 March 2015 – At respective meetings with the Police Force in the sub-zones of Tessenei, Haikota and Afabet, it was stated that enhanced public awareness regarding law is a prerequisite in reducing instances of crime.

In a meeting at Tessenei town with residents of Selam and She’ib Administrative areas, Capt. Saleh Mohammed-Ali, Police Commander in Tessenei sub-zone, noted the family’s pivotal role in nurturing moral virtues, and called on parents, community elders and religious leaders to play active role in shaping youth behavior and the general public to sustain cooperation with the Police.

Likewise, Capt. Kidane Haile, Commander of Police Station in Haikota, called on students to practice school rules and demonstrate higher excellence in their academic studies, in addition to providing the required information to the Police whenever new instances occur.

In a seminar he conducted for students of Junior and Secondary schools in Afabet town, Lt. Amenai Zewdi, Commander of Police Station, said that thanks to the promotional activities conducted in all parts of the sub-zone, instances of crime have shown decline, and urged participants to uphold the nation’s cultural values.
