Farmers in Adiqe-Tekhula engage in farmland restoration campaign

Farmers in Adiqe-Tekhula, Dubarwa sub-zone, are engaged in farmland restoration campaign in areas eroded by floods through mobilizing financial and labor input.

 

Dubarwa, 01 April 2015 – Farmers in Adiqe-Tekhula, Dubarwa sub-zone, are engaged in farmland restoration campaign in areas eroded by floods through mobilizing financial and labor input.

The participants of the scheme stated that they have been engaging in similar undertakings as of last year, and that significant outcome has been registered in this regard.

The campaign is part of the soil and water conservation activities being carried out nationwide, and that over 5 hectares of land have so far been restored, the farmers added.

Members of Village Development Committee said that over 120 farmers are taking part in the scheme on a daily basis and called for support from the Government and natives to finalize the task on time.
