Northern Red Sea region: Call made for paying due attention to preservation of historical relics

Heads of different institutions in the Northern Red Sea region have called for paying due attention to the preservation of the nation’s historical relics, and thereby bequeath such assets to the young generation.

Massawa, 02 April 2015 – Heads of different institutions in the Northern Red Sea region have called for paying due attention to the preservation of the nation’s historical relics, and thereby bequeath such assets to the young generation. They made the call during a tour of Dahlak sub-zone.

The tour was organized by the regional Administration and Department heads in the region, the PFDJ branch, line Ministries and public associations participated in the program during which  they observed fossils of Fars civilization during the 8thand 14th centuries, ancient graves , new discoveries of Arabic and Islamic history and over 60 ancient water wells, among others.

Among the participants, Mr. Yohannes Gebreyesus, Mr. Issa Ahmed Issa, Mr. Wolderfiel Teklai and Artist Afwerk Haile stressed the need for exerting enhanced efforts to preserve the resource there.
