In line with the endeavors being made to promote community health in remote areas and making substantial investment, community awareness regarding modern medical service is gaining momentum in Dahalk sub-zone.

Dahlak, 04 April 2015 – In line with the endeavors being made to promote community health in remote areas and making substantial investment, community awareness regarding modern medical service is gaining momentum in Dahalk sub-zone.

The inhabitants of Derbushet and Dihil areas told Erina that health services being rendered are making significant contribution towards promoting community health. As a result, instances of diseases have witnessed visible decline.

Mussie Haile and Tseadu Tsegabirhan, Associate Nurses at the health stations in the locality, stated that there exist two health stations there that provide services in follow-up of pregnant mothers, vaccination and medication of communicable and non-communicable diseases, as well as first aid. Over 20 individuals are receiving service at the stations daily, they added.

Dahlak sub-zone lies about 100 Km. east of Massawa and comprises nine villages inhabited by over 2,700 nationals.
