MOT Central region organizes training program aimed at raising awareness of students on tourism

The Ministry of Tourism Central region branch organized a training program on 03 April at the Asmara Comprehensive School aimed at raising the awareness of the students on tourism and reinforcing participation in tourism related activities.

Asmara, 05 April 2015- The Ministry of Tourism Central region branch organized a training program on 03 April at the Asmara Comprehensive School aimed at raising the awareness of the students on tourism and reinforcing participation in tourism related activities.

Ms. Elsa Russom, Head of agitation and information at the branch office, gave extensive briefing on the significant influence the smokeless industry has on the social, economic, political as well as cultural sectors, and called on the students to reinforce participation in the efforts to preserve cultural and historical heritages.

She further said that the effort being exerted by the ministry is to make Eritrea a tourist attraction place with the tourism resource it possesses, and that peace, serenity, cleanliness, cultural and historical heritages as well as religious festivities and festivals have an important role in the development of tourism.

Mr. Araia Gebretsadik, Director of the school, indicated that it is the fifth time that such a seminar is being organized at the school, and called on the students to practically apply on the ground the training they have been provided.

The participants on their part commending the training they have been provided expressed readiness to reinforce participation in the efforts to preserve the cultural and historical heritages.

Similar training programs have been organized at Barka, Keih-Bahri and Harinet high school.
