NUEW branch in Nakfa sub-zone graduates 30 members in vocational training

As part of the endeavors being made by the National Union of Eritrean Women (NUEW) to improve the livelihood of members, a total of 30 female citizens have graduated in Nacfa sub-zone upon completion of 3-month vocational training.

Nacfa, 11 April 2015 – As part of the endeavors being made by the National Union of Eritrean Women (NUEW) to improve the livelihood of members, a total of 30 female citizens have graduated in Nacfa sub-zone upon completion of 3-month vocational training.

Ms. Rayet Osman, head of the branch office, stated that the training is the first of its type and that previously about 130 females received weaving and designing course. She also explained that such initiatives are making due impact on the improvement of the livelihood of beneficiaries.

Likewise, Ms. Jim’a Raki, head of the NUEW branch in the Northern Red Sea region, noted the significant of the scheme as regards enabling the beneficiaries become self-supporting. The Union is working on priority basis to promote handicraft for export, she added.

A representative of the trainees expressed satisfaction with the initiative and voiced readiness to strive to lead improved living style taking the opportunity as a steppingstone.
