Gala-Nefhi, 30 April – Eritrea ranks among the four leading countries in the world that have scored top marks in the fight against malaria. The announcement was made at a public gathering at Gala Nefhi, in the environs of Asmara, to mark International Day Against Malaria.
According to statistical data, 90% of individuals who died in 2013 due to malaria were from countries in Sub-Saharan Africa in 2013. 78% of these were children. Eritrea has reduced malaria incidence by over 95%.
