Eritrea among States that scored leading outcome in combating malaria

Eritrea ranks among the four leading countries in the world that have scored top marks in the fight against malaria.

Gala-Nefhi, 30 April – Eritrea ranks among the four leading countries in the world that have scored top marks in the fight against malaria. The announcement was made at a public gathering at Gala Nefhi, in the environs of Asmara, to mark International Day Against Malaria.

According to statistical data, 90% of individuals who died in 2013 due to malaria were from countries in Sub-Saharan Africa in 2013.  78% of these were children.  Eritrea has reduced malaria incidence by over 95%.
