Soil and water conservation activities in Hamelmalo sub-zone are gaining added momentum.
Hamelmalo, 06 May 2015 – Soil and water conservation activities in Hamelmalo sub-zone are gaining added momentum. In this connection, the Administrator of the sub-zone, Mr. Mohammed-Idris, stated that citizens in Gizgiza area are currently building terraces, water catchment means and diversion canals.
Moreover, the local inhabitants have renovated 15 km-long dirt road along the Keren-Afabet route, in addition to putting in place over 630 meters of water catchment devices, more than 780 meter-long water diversion canals and extensive terracing schemes.
