Asmara, 21 June 2015- At a meeting they conducted in connection with June 20 Martyrs’ Day, affluent residents of Central Asmara sub-zone pledged to assist 29 families of fallen heroes.
At the event the nationals explained that every Eritrean has the responsibility of assisting families of the fallen heroes, and that the contribution they pledged is far lesser comparing to what the martyrs’ gave to their people and country.
In a related news, the Heroes Association of Mai-Diminet spent the day, June 20 Martyrs’ Day, with families of Martyrs’ in their area, while Capitol Friendship Association residing inside the country and abroad visited families of the fallen heroes and provided them with financial assistance.
Likewise, residents of Sembel administrative area provided financial assistance to the sons and daughters of Martyrs that would soon go to Sawa as part of the 28th batch of national service program.
In related news, at a commemorative event they conducted in connection with June 20, Martyrs’ Day, residents of Hagaz-subzone, donated 12 thousand each to 44 needy martyrs’ families.
According to Ms. Amna Haj-Osman, Administrator of the sub-zone, the funding has been raised from 16 administrative areas in the sub-zone.
