Efforts to reduce mortality rate of children

At a graduating ceremony of village health volunteers from the sub-zones, Mr. Tekle Tesfamariam, family and community affairs representative at the MOH of Anseba region, indicated that a community based effort is being introduced aimed at reducing the mortality rate of children under five years of age.

 

Keren, 05 July 2015- At a graduating ceremony of village health volunteers from the sub-zones, Mr. Tekle Tesfamariam, family and community affairs representative at the MOH of Anseba region, indicated that a community based effort is being introduced aimed at reducing the mortality rate of children under five years of age.

He further said that currently there are 219 health volunteers working at 165 villages.

Dr. Kesetebrhan Solomon, head of the Health Ministry in the region, stated that thanks to the strong commitment on the part of the village health volunteers commendable results have been achieved, and that the branch office would reinforce efforts for its sustainability.

The participants on their part expressed readiness to live up to expectations.
