NUEW Central Council holds 2nd regular meeting

The Central Council of the National Union of Eritrean Women (NUEW) held its 2nd regular meeting in Embatkala on July 22.

Asmara, 24 July 2015 – The Central Council of the National Union of Eritrean Women (NUEW) held its 2nd regular meeting in Embatkala on July 22.

The President of the NUEW, Ms. Tekha Tesfamichael, presented a report on the political, economic and social activities of the Union during the past 6-months. The report highlighted the tasks accomplished in raising the awareness of members, improving women’s welfare, launching projects aimed at economically benefiting women and organizing training courses.

Ms. Tekha further outlined endeavors exerted to promote relations with foreign women’s organizations. As part of such efforts, the NUEW participated in international conferences, Ms. Tekha elaborated.

The participants of the meeting charted an action programme for the next six months.
