Eritrean nationals in western Canada held their annual Festival in the city of Edmonton in a colorful manner.

Asmara, August 11 2015 – Eritrean nationals in western Canada held their annual Festival in the city of Edmonton in a colorful manner. The participants were from the cities of Calgary, Regina, Saskatoon, Vancouver and Winnipeg, among others.

In a seminar conducted for Festival participants, Mr. Elias Amare, expounded on the concerted and multi-faceted campaigns waged by Eritrea’s detractors to portray the country in a negative light and to hamper its development drive.  Mr. Elias also explained in greater detail the need for Eritrean communities abroad to educate the young generation on the history and culture of their homeland so as to preserve and consolidate the existing strong linkages and bonds.

The Festival featured different sports as well as cultural and artistic shows.
