Solar Energy  in Foro Health Centre

Asmara, August 18 2015 – Solar Energy power supply equipment have been installed at Foro Health Centre in the Southern Red Sea Region. This will provide continuous power supply to the Centre and ensure the delivery of uninterrupted health services.

Similar facilities will soon be installed in the health stations in Robrobia, Lahazien and Erafailie Health Centres in the same region.

The Ministry of Health has so far installed localized solar power equipment and  medical equipment cooling  facilities in 16 health centers nationwide.

Residents conduct campaigns

Asmara, 18 August 2015- The residents of Mai-Guduf administrative area, Senafe sub-zone, are conducting community campaigns aimed at expanding arable land in their area.

Mr. Hiskias Wuhbet, administrator of the sub-zone, stated that the ongoing endeavours are undertaken through the initiative of residents of the administrative area.  He expressed the hope that other communities in zone will also take similar measures and thereby increase the size of cultivable land.

Potable water supply in Adi-Tekelezan

Asmara, 18 August 2015 –The Administrator of Anseba Region, Mr. Ali Mohammed, announced of new plans to alleviate the shortage of potable water in Adi –Tekelezan, a small town 42 kms north-west of Asmara and with approximately 20,000 residents.  Mr. Ali made the announcement while on a working tour to the town.

Experts working on the new project on their part explained that all preparations to start implementation have already been finalized.   Project completion is expected to guarantee reliable supply of potable water to the town for years to come.
