Massawa, 19 August 2015- Mr. Andemichael Solomon, head of infrastructure building at the Northern Red Sea region, urged sub-zone and administrative area administrators to augment their role for the timely implementation of development programs in the region.

Mr. Andemichael emphasized the significance of proper appraisal of priority development programs, the timely identification of gaps in implementation as well as the preservation of the positive culture of hard work.

Mr. Fitsum Gerezgiher, head of statistics and IT in the region, for his part stated that increased awareness of the public will facilitate the charting out of development programs on the basis of concrete prioritization.    The main challenges, in this regard, are providing the public with timely and correct information in view of the constraints that exist due to the nomadic living style of some members of the public.

The administrators also discussed the significant contribution of the tourism industry in the economic development of the country and for creating employment opportunities.
