Eritrean Athletes who participated at the All-Africa Games 2015 from 6-19 September returned home on Sunday, September the 20th.
Asmara, 23 September 2015 –Eritrean Athletes who participated at the All-Africa Games 2015 from 6-19 September returned home on Sunday, September the 20th.
Upon arrival at the Asmara International Airport, the athletes were awarded warm welcome by Ambassador Zemede Tekle, Commissioner of Culture and Sports.
Ambassador Zemede stated that the remarkable achievements scored by the athletes at the All-Africa Games were a source of pride to the people of Eritrea. These results will spur Eritrean athletes to achieve more outstanding performances in other International games, the Commissioner of Culture and Sports underlined.
“The race was challenging, and it made us weigh, on the scale, our capacity with that of our competitors”…. “It was a great lesson learned”, gold-medalist and Olympian Athlete Zerenesenay Taddesse, and Hizkiel Tewolde who won the bronze medal in the Half-Marathon told ERINA upon their arrival at the airport.
Overall, Eritrea secured 3 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal in the All Africa Games hosted in Congo Brazzaville.
