Soil and water conservation in Debarwa

Inhabitants of Debarwa Sub-zone are carrying out effective soil and water conservation activities.

Debarwa, 9 October 2015 – Inhabitants of Debarwa Sub-zone are carrying out effective soil and water conservation activities.

Over 60 thousand local inhabitants have taken part in the campaign over the past nine months and that terraces have been put in place in addition to the planting of over 80 thousand tree seedlings.

There exist 28 dams and 16 water reservoirs in the Sub- zone which are making substantial input to the enrichment of water resources.
