Festival Eritrea in Riyadh and its environs, held under the banner of “Development through Resilience”, was concluded on 31st October 2015.
Riyadh, 3 November 2015 – Festival Eritrea in Riyadh and its environs, held under the banner of “Development through Resilience”, was concluded on 31st October 2015. Over 3,000 Eritreans took part in the festival which, in its own right, served as a platform for displaying the unity and harmony of citizens living in the KSA.
The festival program mainly focused on children and the youth, featuring seminars on current affairs in the homeland, general knowledge competitions, fashion shows, sports activities, cultural lifestyles and dances of Eritrea’s nine ethnic groups among others. Awards were handed out to winners of the various competitions.
Brigadier General Abraha Kassa, Head of the NSA, delivered the keynote speech and gave extensive briefings on development programs back home that prioritize improvement of people’s living standards and ensuring social justice.
Participants of the festival pledged continued support to national development programs and indicated preparations they have already begun to participate in the forthcoming Silver Jubilee Celebrations of Eritrea’s Independence Day Anniversary.
