A potable water supply project was put in place at a cost of 2 million Nakfa in the administrative area of Kuandeba, subzone of Serejeka, Maekel Region, with the cooperation of the administration, citizens and other stakeholders.
Asmara, 17 November 2015 – A potable water supply project was put in place at a cost of 2 million Nakfa in the administrative area of Kuandeba, subzone of Serejeka, Maekel Region, with the cooperation of the administration, citizens and other stakeholders.
During the inauguration ceremony held on the 15th of November, Mr. Yemane Abay, Director General of the Department of Land and Agriculture in Maekel Region, stated that the project will benefit 1125 families and a number of schools in the area.
Mr. Teklehaymanot Tesfamariam, Administrator of Kuandeba, noted that the community was grappling with acute shortages in the supply of potable water and the project will go a long way to alleviate these hurdles.
The water project comprises pipelines extending for over 1.2Km, a 40 meter water reservoir and solar panels.
