Assab, 30 November 2015 – Head of National Union of Eritrean Women (NUEW) in Southern Red Sea region Ms. Saedia Ibrahim called on parents in general and mothers in particular to play active role in encouraging their daughters to engage in the all-round-national development programs. She made the remarks at a meeting conducted in Assab recently.
Pointing out the remarkable role played by women during the struggle for independence and in maintaining the sovereignty of the nation after liberation, Ms. Saedia stressed the need for parents dedicated input in encouraging girls to play an active role in the national food security program as well as in the development of the nation.
Assessing the obstacles women face in education, Ms. Saedia further reassured the commitment of NUEW in nurturing productive women equipped with the requisite knowledge and skill.
During the meeting, participants expressed readiness to increase involvement in supporting their daughters achieve higher educational standards.
