Call made for augmenting public participation

The administrator of the Central region, Maj. Gen. Ramadan Osman Aweliai called on the public to augment participation for the success of the national holidays celebrations.

Asmara, 9 January 2016 – The administrator of the Central region, Maj. Gen. Ramadan Osman Aweliai called on the public to augment participation for the success of the national holidays celebrations. He made the comment at a meeting he conducted on 06 January with department heads, administrators of the sub-zones and heads of PFDJ branches in the region.

The administrator said that the national holidays are reflections of national identity and unity in diversity. He also said that the Independence Day celebration is a day in which we bequeath to the young generation the steadfastness and history the Eritrean people in an artistic manner.

Mr. Zerit Tewoldebrhan, Managing Director in the region, expressed his expectation that the different committees that are formed to oversee the Independence Day celebrations ensure the full participation of the public.

This year’s Independence Day  celebrations will include carnival shows, students’ Independence Day week and community gatherings. Nationals residing in Europe, North America, Australia, Africa and Asia will also participate at the carnival shows.
