Sudanese doctors perform surgeries

A team of Sudanese doctors are performing surgeries for paediatric patients with cardiac problems, patients with kidney ailments and patients with otolaryngology diseases at Orotta National Referral Hospital.

Asmara, 23 January 2016 – A team of Sudanese doctors are performing surgeries for paediatric patients with cardiac problems, patients with kidney ailments and patients with otolaryngology diseases at Orotta National Referral Hospital.

The doctors are also performing surgeries for patients with bone and spinal cord problems at Halibet Hospital.

Reports assert that the group has already conducted cardiac surgeries for 31 paediatric patients and general surgeries for 38 patients. The program will continue until 26 January.

Dr. Osama Muktada explained that working in collaboration with Eritrean medical doctors has significant importance in exchanging experiences and best practices.

It is to be recalled that a Sudanese medical team ‘Al-Besir’ conducts eye surgeries every year in different regions of Eritrea.

The program is being conducted in accordance with the agreement reached between the Ministries of Health of the two countries.
