Asmara, 2 February 2016 – The Inhabitants of Himbol-Kechech, Kerkebet sub-zone, are demonstrating increasing interest in sedentary life and abandoning their nomadic standard of living.

As a result, the expansion of social services in the locality is on the rise and the inhabitants are provided with better access to health care, education and potable water facilities.

  • Malaria control activities in Anseba region registering positive outcomes

Asmara, 2 February 2016 – The ongoing efforts to control and eradicate malaria in Anseba region have registered encouraging results.

According to reports, the occurrence of the disease has declined by 97% thanks to the growing awareness of citizens in the region which play an active role in the process. Over 200 thousands mosquito nets have been distributed by the Health Ministry in the region.
