NUEW branch meeting in Assab

Ms. Sadia Ibrahim, head of National Union of Eritrean Women branch of the Southern Red Sea, called on women in the region to enhance their roles within all facets of national development.

Asmara, 10 February 2016 – Ms. Sadia Ibrahim, head of National Union of Eritrean Women branch of the Southern Red Sea, called on women in the region to enhance their roles within all facets of national development. She made the remarks at a meeting held in Assab with women of the East Command.

Following detailed briefings on the significance and objectives of the NUEW, Ms. Sadia said that the main focus of the Union’s 7th Congress was the need to invest in women youth successors by enhancing their political awareness, ensuring their rights, and promoting gender equality.

Also, elaborating on various athletic activities, both nationally and internationally, Sports Commissioner in the Southern Red Sea region, Mr. Ibrahim Saleh, called on the athletes to make a name for their nation, as well as for themselves, in future international tournaments.
