Forestry and Wildlife Authority

Asmara, 12 March 2016 – The Forestry and Wildlife Authority conducted a review session to evaluate performance and tasks accomplished in the past year.

The review session noted positive developments in terms of increased awareness and concrete results in wildlife conservation. At the same time, it urged for continuous and rigorous efforts to reverse deforestation through the various ongoing schemes and programmes at the national level.

 

Youth Training Programmes

Barentu, 12 March 2016- The National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students (NUEYS) organized a three months training programme to equip 145 youth with different employable skills as part and parcel of its.

The head of the NUEYS in the sub-zone, Mr. Meles Gebrai , informed Erina News that 31 youth were enrolled in video and still camera photographic courses, 23 in music, 23 in electronics maintenance programmes and 68 in hairdressing styles and techniques.

The Chairman of the NUEYS, Mr. Saleh Ahmedin, attended the graduation ceremony and delivered a keynote address.

 

Youth Seminars

Keren, 12 March 2016- Seminars aimed at establishing youth associations were conducted in Hagaz and Adi-Tekelezan sub-zones from 3 to 5 March this month.

At the seminar conducted in Hagaz, the head of the MOE branch, Mr. Saleh Ibrahim, stressed the importance of popular participation in furthering education among the youth.

The Head of the NUEYS in Anseba region, Mr. Azazi Bereketeab for this part underlined that the sensitization programme are expected to strengthen youth organizations and thereby enhance their overall contribution to society.

Different briefings were provided on the role of the youth in the political and socio-economic developments of the country.
