Weekly Update on the Independence Torch

The Independence Torch reached Emni-Haili, Southern Region, Friday 11 March.

Mendefera, 12 March 2016- The Independence Torch reached Emni-Haili, Southern Region Friday 11 March.

The Independence Torch, which is passing through historical sites in the Southern Region for the third week, has so far covered 50 administrative areas, 6 cities and 3 semi-urban centers. Local communities and members of the Eritrean Defense Forces assemble in each destination point of the Independence Torch to pay tribute to Eritrea’s heroes and martyrs.

The next itinerary of the Independence Torch includes Adi Quala, Mai-Mine and Dengur, with an aggregate distance of 111.8 kilometers.
