MoH’s Anseba Region assessment meeting

Ministry of Health Anseba region branch conducted an assessment meeting on 14 March in the city of Keren.

Asmara, 19 March 2016 – Ministry of Health Anseba region branch conducted an assessment meeting on 14 March in the city of Keren. During the meeting the Minister of Health Ms. Amina Nurhusein noted that Azel Pharmaceutical Company is now covering 45% of the medicine  demand at national level.

The Minister further said that the ministry is exerting efforts to upgrade the professional capacity of its members and to alleviate the shortages of medical equipment. She also indicated that efforts are being made to expand health facilities aimed at easing the work load of Referral Hospitals.

The head of administration and finance at the MOH branch in the region, Mr. Zekarias Okbaselasie stated that commendable achievements have been registered in reducing the pre and antenatal problems and vaccination programs. He also said that successful awareness raising programs were conducted.

The Governor of the region, Mr. Ali Mahmud on his part said that securing the health of the society is a priority task of the government and called on the public to cooperate for the success of the vaccination programs.
