Training program for nationals with hearing disabilities

The Cultural Affairs of the PFDJ offered training to 21 members of the National Association of the Deaf, Central region branch.

 

Asmara, March 19 2016 – The Cultural Affairs of the PFDJ offered training to 21 members of the National Association of the Deaf, Central region branch. The seven months long training included practical and theoretical lessons on drama and acting.

Chairman of the association, Mr. Abdalla Mohammed-Brhan indicated that the objective of the training was to help the members identify their inclinations as well as increasing the awareness of the public on sign language.

The head of social services in Central region’s NUEW branch, Ms. Elsa Gebreyohannes, said that such training programs have significant contribution in assisting the disabled to become active members of the society.

The graduates on their part said that the training enable them to be acquainted with artistic works and expressed their readiness to develop what they learned through practice.
