Significance of public participation

Director of the National Medicine and Consumer Goods Safety Control at the MOH, Mr. Eyasu Bahta, called on the public to enhance cooperation with health professionals in controlling the side effects of medicine.

Asmara, 23 March 2016 -Director of the National Medicine and Consumer Goods Safety Control at the MOH, Mr. Eyasu Bahta, called on the public to enhance cooperation with health professionals in controlling the side effects of medicine.

Mr. Eyasu pointed out that any consumer should take immediate action to inform nearby health facilities if they suspect medicines in use are causing side-effects or are below standard. The objective of the call, according to the control unit, is to help health professionals take preemptive correctional measures.

Last year, health professionals in Asmara and Keren offered training regarding follow-up of side-effects of medicine.
