Independence Torch in its three months journey

The Independence Torch that is currently touring in the Gash Barka region in connection with the Silver Jubilee Independence Day has reached to Mogoraib, Dige sub-zone.

Barentu, 15 April 2016- The Independence Torch that is currently touring in the Gash Barka region in connection with the Silver Jubilee Independence Day has reached to Mogoraib, Dige sub-zone. Upon arrival to Mogoraib the torch was awarded warm reception by the residents and students of the town accompanied with military parade and cultural shows.

At the event the administrator of the sub-zone Mr. Humed Ela pointed out that the Mogoraib sub-zone and especially the Afhimbol area is a place in which the enemy leader informed to a group of his soldiers about the infamous and failed 6th offensive that was due to take place in a bid to destroy the Eritrean struggle for independence once and for all.

The torch reached Mogoraib passing through the sub-zones of Barentu, Mogolo and Aqordet.

The Independence Torch which convened its tour from 15 January from Nakfa reached the Dige sub-zone after three months and four weeks of its tour.

The next destination of the torch will be to Sawa and Forto Sawa covering 143 kilometers and on 20 April it will be handed over to the Anseba region at Kerkebet.
