Veteran fighter Col. Gerezgiher Haile passes away

Veteran fighter Col. Gerezgiher, member of the administration staff of the Ministry of Defense, passed away on 28 April at the age of 61.

Asmara, 28 April 2016- Veteran fighter Col. Gerezgiher, member of the administration staff of the Ministry of Defense, passed away on 28 April at the age of 61.

The late veteran fighter joined the EPLF in 1975 and served in various positions during the armed struggle for independence. After independence,  Col.  Gerezhiher   served his people and country in various positions at the Government Garage and as member of the administration staff of the Ministry of Defense.

Col. Gerezgiher is survived by his wife and 5 children.

Funeral service of the veteran fighter will be held on 30 April at mid day at the Asmara Martyrs Cemetery.

The Ministry of Defense expresses deep sorrow to the families and friends on the passing away of veteran fighter Col. Gerezgiher Haile.
