The Independence Torch that is currently touring in the Anseba region in connection with the Jubilee Independence Day entered in Halhal. The torch so far has travelled 2500 kilometers covering four regions.
Keren, 29 April 2016- The Independence Torch that is currently touring in the Anseba region in connection with the Jubilee Independence Day entered in Halhal. The torch so far has travelled 2500 kilometers covering four regions.
During the handing over ceremony that took place in Kerkebet the torch was awarded warm welcome by the residents of the administrative villages of Himbol, Hamash-Diba and Agnait and religious leaders accompanied with military and students’ parades.
At the occasion, the Governor of the Anseba region Mr. Ali Mahmud said that the Independence Torch is a symbol of the dedication and perseverance the Eritrean people had to go through both during the armed struggle for independence and in the nation building process.
The next destination of the torch will be to Hamelmalo, Hagaz, Keren and Geleb travelling 161 kilometers.
