Agreement to strengthen cooperation

The Governments of Eritrea and the People’s Republic of China signed today in Asmara an agreement   to strengthen existing cooperation in the health sector.

Asmara, 03 May 2016- The Governments of Eritrea and the People’s Republic of China signed today in Asmara an agreement   to strengthen existing cooperation in the health sector.

The agreement was signed by the Minister of Health Ms. Amina Nurhusein, and, the Chinese Ambassador to Eritrea, Mr. Qui Xwejun.

The agreement incorporates provision of medicines, medical equipment, deployment of Chinese medical experts to Eritrea as well as exchanging of experiences and best practices between the two sides.

The current agreement will significantly scale up vibrant cooperation programmes fostered between the two sides in the past 20 years.   As part of these broad ties of bilateral cooperation, Chinese medical experts recently carried out urinary tract surgeries for about 300 patients in the capital, Asmara.
