Messages of congratulation

Leaders of different countries and international organizations are sending messages of congratulation to the Government and people of Eritrea in connection with the Silver jubilee Independence Day anniversary.

Asmara, 16 May 2016- Leaders of different countries and international organizations are sending messages of congratulation to the Government and people of Eritrea in connection with the Silver jubilee Independence Day anniversary.

The leaders of South Africa, Australia, the Republic of Liberia and Republic of India wished good health to President Isaias Afwerki and peace and prosperity to the Eritrean people.

In his message, the President of South Africa, Jacob G. Zuma expressed his respect to the price the Eritrean people paid for their independence and the efforts they are exerting to ensure lasting development. He also expressed readiness to work alongside Eritrea in the efforts to ensure improved living standard of citizens and peace and stability in the continent.

The Governor General of the Commonwealth of Australia, Sir Peter Cosgrove expressed appreciation for the multi-faceted development Eritrea has registered in general and that of the health sector in particular and articulated desire to enhance relations of cooperation in the sectors of health, agriculture and mining.

Similarly, the President of the Republic of Liberia, Ms. Ellen Johnson sent congratulatory message on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia and wished success to the Government and people of Eritrea in their strive to realize lasting peace and development.

Likewise, the President of the Republic of India, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee noted the warm and brotherly relationship between Eritrea and India, and expressed conviction to further enhance cooperation in different sectors.
